Lauridsen Collection

Hans Lauridsen is assembling a collection of airworthy vintage airplanes at the Buckeye Municipal Airport in Arizona. The Buckeye Municipal Airport is about one miile south of Interstate 10 on South Palo Verde Road (exit 109). There are plans to build a 30,000 square foot hangar at the Gila Bend Airport to house the collection. It will feature 19 aircraft including the B-25, C-119, Convair, C-1A, PBY, TBM, WACO, A-26, Albatross, T-28, Navion, T-6, DC-3, Beech, L-19, Cessna 206, Stearman, L-4, Super Cub. The museum will also feature WWII military vehicles. The pictures on this display were taken on February 19, 2010 and April 29, 2011.

Grumman HU-16C N7025J was delivered to US Navy as BuNo 131910 on July 22, 1953 and assigned to NAS Bermuda. It was retired to MASDC as UU0045 on July 13, 1970. It remained in open storage until 1980. Allied Aircraft Sales Inc. of Tucson acquired it on behalf of Grumman Aerospace Corpation of St Augustine, Florida on February 17, 1981. Air Crane Inc. of Opa Locka, Florida registered it as N7025J in December 1988. It has been reigstered to Stephen Ritland of Flagstaff. Arizona since June 13, 1989. It was damaged in a landing incident at Sedona, Arizona on September 26, 1998.
Douglas DC-3C N243DC carries construction number 9247. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since October 18, 2004. It was previously registered as N66HL and flew with Fly Aviation livery. It is powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney R-1830 radial engines.
Canadian Vickers PBV-1A Canso (PBY-5A Catalina) N413PB is the Canadian eauivalent of the Consolidated PBY-5A Catalina. Its Canadian Vickers construction number is CV-343. It was delivered to the Royal Canadian Air Force as RCAF 11047 on February 24, 1944. It was struck off on April 26, 2962. It was operated by the province of Labrador and Newfoundland as CF-OFI from 1965 to 1973. It was operated by the government of Labrador and Newfoundland as C-FOFI from 1979 to 1990. It flew for Buffalo Airways in 2002. Hans Lauridsen registered it first as N343CV and then N413PB. It sat for some time at the Glendale Airport.

Grumman C-1A Trader N71456 was built in 1955 and flew for the US Navy as BuNo 136752. Its construction number is 5. It was acquired by Wiley Sanders of Troy, Alabama in 1991 and was named Bull Dawg. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since July 20, 2005. It is powered by a pair of Wright R-1820 radial engines.
Grumman HU-16 Albatross N216HU has been restored in US Coast Guard colors. Its construction number is G-333. It was delivered to US Navy as BuNo 131904 Nov 4, 1953. It was retired to MASDC as 1U0052 Jul 7, 1970 and remained in open storage until 1980. Allied Aircraft Sales Inc. of Tucson acquired it on behalf of Grumman Aerospace Corpation of St Augustine, Florida on March 9, 1981. Air Crane Inc. of Opa Locka, Florida registered it as N7026X in December 1988. Island Flying Boats Inc. of Miami, Florida acqired it in April 1989 and sold it to South Florida Aviation Investments, of Opa Locka, Florida in March 1993. It was placed in open storage at DMI of Tucson, Arizona. Big Toe Inc. of Incline Village, Nevada registered it on March 16, 1994. Big Toe Inc. changed its registration to N904G in December 2001 and then to N9131 on April 26, 2007. Hans O. Lauridsen of Carefree, Arizona registered it as N216HU on November 5, 2008. It is powered by a pair of Wright R-1820 radial engines.
Douglas A-26C Invader N126HP is being repainted in night attack black. It was built in 1945 and its construction number is 27799. It flew for the US Army Air Corps as A-26B-61-DL 44-34520. It was transferred to storage at the Sacramento Air Materiel Center at McClellan Air Force Base, California in June 1945. It was transferred to Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach, California in November 1950 and converted to B-26C standard. It was transferred to Ogden Air Materiel Area at Hill AFB, Utah in February 1951. It was transferred to the 452nd Bombardment (Light) Wing (Far East Air Forces) at Miho Air Base and Pusan Air Base Korea in April 1951. It was transferred to the 17th Bombardment (L) Wing (FEAF) at Miho Air Base and Pusan Air Base Korea in May 1952. It was transferred to the 6408th Maintenance and Supply Group (FEAF) at Kisarazu Air Base Japan in July 1952. It was transferred to the Sacramento Air Materiel Area at McClellan Air Force Base in September 1952. It was transferred to the Ogden Air Materiel Area at Hill Air Force Base, Utah in January 1953. It was transferred to 461st Bombardment (L) Wing (Tactical Air Force at Hill Air Force Base (deployment to Wendover Air Force Base, Utah) in March 1954. It was transferred to the 2347th Air Reserve Flying Center (US Air Force Reserves) at Long Beach Air Force Base, California in July 1955. It was transferred to Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona for storage in February 1957. It was Dropped from inventory as surplus in July 1958. It was registered as N9420Z by A.S. Wilstrom Incorporated of New York, New York in 1963. It was converted to executive configuration by the LeTourneau Company in Texas. It was registered as C-GHCF by Conair Aviation Limited of Abbotsford, British Columbia in April 1974 and flew as tanker #28. It was registered as N94207 by Hawkins Powers Aviation of Greybull, Wyoming in November 1988. It received its current registration in July 1989. It was acquired by D&G Incorporated of Greybull on August 23, 2000. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since October 5, 2006. It flies as Lu Lu. It is powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engines.
North American B-25J Mitchell N3438G was built in 1944 and flew for the US Army Air Corps as 44-86797. Its construction number is 108-47551. In the 1950s, the US Air Force converted it to a TB-25N. It was retired from the Air Force and stored at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in 1957. It was registered as N3438G by George Race of Dallas, Texas on May 6, 1959. William H. Wisner of Dallas bought it in July 1959 and sold it to Web Thomas Aircraft Sales of Addison, Texas in December 1963. Robert Hobart of Gulfport, Missippi in April 1965 and sold it to Caribbean Enterprises International of Gulfport in April 1966. Carl Gibbons, Vernon Land ,and Coy Neal of West Monroe, Louisiana acquired it in August 1966 and sold it back to Caribbean Enterprises International in September 1966. Web Thomas Aircraft Sales of Addison, Texas bought it in May 1967 and sold it to Glenn H. Ransom of Brentwood, California the same month. Milton Welser of Stockton, California acquired it in March 1973 and sold it to Richard Skadsheim of Modesto, California in July 1978. It was withdrawn from use and sat derelict at Turlock, California from 1981 to 1983. Carl Scholl and Aero Trader of Chino, California bought it in August 1983 and sold it to Wiley Sanders Truck Lines Incorporated in March 1985. It flew as Samantha and was later rstored as US Navy PBJ Ol Grey Mare. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since June 7, 2004. It is powered by a pair of Wright R-2600 radial engines.
Fairchild C-119G Flying Boxcar N15501 will be familiar to those who saw the remake of the movie Flight of the Phoenix. It was built in 1951 and its construction number is 10955. It served in the Royal Caandian Air Force as RCAF 22130. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since January 23, 2007. It is powered by a pair of Wright R-3350 radial engines.

Beech C-45H Expeditor N6365T carries construction number AF-617. Aircraft Guaranty Corporation of Houston, Texas registered it as N6365T in 1996. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since August 24, 2006.
Cub Crafters PA18-150 N324A was built in 2003. Its construction number is 9962CC. It is powered by a Lycoming O-360 Series four-cylinder, horizontally-oppeosed, piston engine.
Ryan Navion B NC5340K was built in 1950. Its construction number is NAV4-2240B. It is powered by a Lycoming GO-435C&D Series six-cylinder, horizontally-oppeosed, piston engine.
Piper J3C-65 N6310H was built in 1946. Its construction number is 19488. It is powered by a Continental A&C75 Series four-cylinder, horizontally-oppeosed, piston engine.
General Motors TBM-3 Avenger N7001C flew for the US Navy as BuNo 85794. Its cosntruction number is 2613. Central Air Service of Lewistown, Montana registered it as N7001C in 1957. Gordon B. Plaskett of King City, California acquired it in 1980 and sold it to Alan Clark and Flytex Incorporated of Dallas, Texas in 1983. Alan Clark and Fighting Air Command of Dallas, Texas bought it in 1986 and sold it to Coke V. Stuart of Valdosta, Georgia in 1988. Richard D. Ervin of Indianapolis, Indiana acquired it on April 22, 1993 and sold it to Bill Hill of Houston, Texas in 1998. It has been registered to Hans Lauridsen since November 8, 2003.
Douglas B-26B Invader N4819E flew for the US Army Air Corps as 44-34609. Rock Island Oil and Refining Compoany of Wichita, Kansas registered it as N4819E in 1960. John Hamacher of San Francisco, California acquired it in 1963 and sold it to Thomas W. Hammon of Phoenix, Arizona in 1970. It was displayed at the Global Air Museum in 1972 before being placed in storage at Litchfield Park, Arizona. Don Underwood and Donaire Incorporated of Phoenix, Arizona bought it in February 1981 and sold it to Dawn R. Adrian of Phoenix, Arizona on April 4, 1996. Its registration is currently pending.
Douglas B-26B Invader N4819E has been sitting at the Buckeye Airport since at least 1986. It is not part of the Lauridsen collection.

North American AT-6D Texan N8151 was ordered by the US Army Air Corps as 41-34374, but delivered to the US Navy as SNJ-5 BuNo 43639. Its construction number is 88-15304. Lake Air Corporation of Michigan City, Indiana registered it as N3669F in 1963. Jerome B. Libby of Pontiac, Michigan bought it in 1966 and registered it as N8151 in 1969. Robert C. Hagan of Sterling Heights, Michigan acquired it in 1984 and sold it to Byrne Aviation of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in January 1992. Hans Lauridsen of Litchfield Park, Arizona bought it on October 23, 1998.

Lockheed 18-56 Lodestar N41CW carries construction number 18-6124. It was delivered to the Royal Air Force as L-414 Hudson A-29 on December 6, 1941 and was converted to an L.18-56 Lodestar in December 1955. It has been registered to Ironworker Supply Incorporated since November 28, 2006. It was previaously registered as N880V and based at Greybull, Wyoming. It is powered by a pair of Wright C9HD radial engines.
